CapCut is a free smartphone video editing app developed by ByteDance, coincidentally, the same company responsible for Tik Tok. The application, available for both Android and iOS, allows you to make movies full of effects, add filters, texts, audios and other elements so that you have a super creative final result. You can still save to your cell phone or share directly on social networks. All this, without having to add a watermark.

But after all, how can CapCut increase your video views on Tik Tok? That's the differential of the app! With it, you can add automatic subtitles to your videos. This feature can be extremely useful for people with hearing impairments, or simply for those who don't want to turn on the cell phone sound and prefer to just read what you are saying. Amazing, isn't it? Therefore, we separate for you a step by step on how to install this app and use these tools.

How to use CapCut

The application that is already successful on Tik Tok and even on Instagram is very simple to use. So if you want to make perfect videos without much effort, CapCut is definitely the app for you!

Step 1: Download CapCut

The first step is very simple, just download the application. Therefore, download CapCut from Play Store or App Store and open the app. Then, accept the terms of use and tap the “+” icon to start a new video project;

Step 2: Select the files

The second step is also quite simple. Press the “Add” button and select, from your gallery, videos and photos that you want to edit. Then tap anywhere on the screen to make the yellow comment box disappear.

Step 3: Learn how to cut the video

To cut the video is very simple, go to “Cut” and then touch the white border at the beginning and drag it to the right, in case you want to cut the beginning of the video. To cut the end, touch the white border and drag to the left;

Step 4: Include subtitles and texts in the video.

This is the most important part! Go to “Texts” and if you want to include a fixed text in your video, place the marker at the moment where you want the text to appear and click “Add Text”. You will have several options of free fonts to enhance your text. Also, you can change the color and add a sticker or animation to your text. To select how long it will appear on the screen, just drag the text line, just below the video, for the desired time.

In the same text tab, you can add subtitles. Click on “Auto Caption” if you want the application to automatically caption. You can also make an external voiceover, in case you want to add your own voiceover over the image. This feature seems silly, but it makes many people not stop watching your videos because they are subtitled.

Step 6: Apply effects to the video

Enter the “Effects” section and browse through the tabs to discover effects available in the video editing app. The app contains a lot of free effects, so I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Right after choosing your preferred effect, drag its edges so that they coincide with the moment in the clip you want the effect to appear. As with the text.

Step 7: Add Filters

Tap “Filters” and then browse the available filters. As well as the effects, the application has a lot of filters. Tap the squares to select a filter and tick the check icon. Drag the filter box to choose your duration across the video. Just like you did with the effects and the text box.

Step 8: Split your video.

Now, if you want to split your video, separating it into two or more parts, select the “Split” tab, place the marker where you want the cut to be made and press “Split”

Step 9: Apply transition effects

Now that you have two videos, you can apply transition effects between them. For that, tap on the little white square in the middle of the clips and then choose your preferred transition. In the “Duration” slider bar, define how many seconds the effect will last in CapCut. After that, tap the icon check.

Step 10: Add music

To include music in your video, go to “Audio” and click on the “Add audio” bar. After that, choose whether you want to add sounds, effects, extract or voiceover;

If you select the “Sounds” tab, choose the “Rhythms” category. When opening the screen, tap the download icon to listen to the available songs. Once downloaded, the button will turn into a “+” which can be pressed to add the music track to the video. Finally, drag the audio bar to fit it into the clip at the moment you want. Just like you've done before.

Step 11: Change brightness and contrast

In the “Adjust” tab, you can make changes to the image in aspects such as brightness, contrast, saturation and exposure. You can even control the intensity of brightness, saturation, contrast and other options available in CapCut. At the end, click on “check” to apply the effect.

Step 12: Delete the final logo

At the end of videos created with CapCut, a clip with the application's logo appears. Go to “Closing” and click “Delete” and that's it! Nobody will know which app you used to make such a creative video.

Now that you know how to use all the options, and especially how to subtitle in CapCut, how about starting subtitling your videos to get more views on your stories, TikTok or Instagram?
