FGTS 2022 emergency withdrawal: see how to consult your benefit

Although the workers do not withdraw the money from the emergency withdrawal of FGTS 2022, it is deposited at the Caixa Econômica Federation, with income many times lower than savings, and used in housing schemes, for example.

On the 17th, Thursday, the government announced the emergency withdrawal of the FGTS 2022 in which the value can go up to 1,000 reais per worker, the FGTS accounts can be both active and inactive (Length of Service Guarantee Fund). Withdrawal starts on April 20, 2022.

FGTS Operations

By the 7th of each month, the employer must deposit the emergency withdrawal of FGTS 2022 on behalf of the employee in the account opened at Caixa Econômica Federal, the amount corresponding to 8% of the salary of each employee. When this date does not fall on a business day, the payment must necessarily be carried over to the immediately preceding business day. If the employer deposits the money after the due date, the amount will receive accruals of interest and monetary correction.

On learning contracts, the fee is reduced to 2%. In the case of domestic workers, the payment is respectively 11.2%, that is, 8% of monthly installments and 3.2% of compensation for estimated dismissal.

FGTS is paid 13th salary, allowance, tip, prior notice, commission and salary. The FGTS is not deducted from the salary, as it is the employer's obligation to pay the benefit.

Another way to get the emergency withdrawal of FGTS 2021 is at home, every two months. Employees must provide their full address on the website, at a Caixa branch or by calling 0800 726 01 01 to receive it at home by post. 

On the website or app

It is also possible to withdraw balances from the emergency withdrawal, done in person, at Caixa branch counters, on the Caixa website or through the FGTS application.

On Caixa's website, it is necessary to notify the NIS (PIS/Pasep), which can be consulted in the employment card or in any old record that the employee has, and using the password provided by the employee's own record. It is also possible to use a citizen password. This site offers the ability to recover the password, but you must notify the NIS.

The PIS number is generated in the employee's first job. It can be noted on the work card, on the FGTS statement, on the citizen card or available at any Caixa branch.

You can verify your PIS number with your CPF by calling your CPF (135). When choosing option 5, an agent will confirm your registration data and provide your PIS number. You can use this service from Monday to Saturday, from 7 am to 10 pm.

Caixa can also contact you with your PIS number through the Caixa Cidadão service, 08007260207. The e-service is available 2 hours a day, 7 days a week. Until 21:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.

Through the Internet

Cnis: When accessing the website of the National Directory of Social Information (Cnis), click on “Citizens”, then click on the word “Cadastro” in the upper left corner of the menu. Then select the option “Contributor”. Fill in the same data as your job card and click on “Continue”. If the data is correct, a red message will appear in the upper corner of the screen, informing you that your data is already in the CNIS database and that the NIT number is the same as the PIS number.

Caixa: On Caixa's website it is possible to query using the CPF. 

INSS: When visiting the site, register. After this step, user data can be referenced in the icon in the upper right corner including the PIS number.
